Where else do you have artists producing so many amazing contemporary works that you can't possibly see them all? Honestly, people -"Tired of London, tired of life".
Lucy Sparrow's piece, 'The Cornershop' is amazing. Sparrow is a young London artist who (with the help of one assistant) sewed the contents of an entire corner grocery store (refurbishing an actual corner store to display them). Four thousand items. It's open for business in Bethnal Green for the month of August. What's even better? All of the contents are made of felt, and actually for sale. I would LOVE to see this with my own eyes.
Check out her blog, it documents the process. I can't even wrap my head around the time this would have taken.
And guess what, if you're not from London, you can still buy a piece of the shop HERE.
Can you believe this?
London friends, please go check this out.
Here is the info you need.
I want to hear all about it.
Nice work, Lucy!
