The memorial itself pays tribute to the 113,663 Canadian Forces killed during the First and Second World Wars. In the two world wars, one million Canadians came to Britain to join the fight for freedom.
It was a a Blue Bird day in London, and the city was absolutely sparkling. For those of you who watched the morning service at the cenotaph on the television, you will have seen London at its best. While the service we attended was not nearly the same scale, it was a nice gathering of about two hundred Canadians, and the High Commissioner for Canada, Gordon Campbell.

After a stroll by Canada House and through Trafalgar Square, we headed to Champagne + Fromage for some lunch. Can you guess what we had?
After our late lunch, it was time for K and me to head towards Leicester Square as we had tickets to see Jersey Boys.
